Donations are dropped off at Our Lady of Refuge to the Casa de los Pobres donation room.

The Casa can accept your donations of:

Canned, dried, and boxed food items (unexpired): Peanut butter, canned evaporated milk, oatmeal, pastas (macaroni, spaghetti), canned corn and vegetables

– canned meat, spam, and tuna especially

Beans, rice (in packages of 5 to 20 pounds and unexpired)

Blankets, sleeping bags, bedding, new or gently used, clean and in good condition

Sheets, towels, new or gently used, clean and in good condition

New clothes for men, women and children with tags attached, socks, shoes (sorry, we cannot accept used clothing items)

Over the counter medications and vitamins (Tylenol, cough medicine, children’s cold medicine, daily vitamins — unexpired). Toiletries for men and women are also needed, including toilet paper, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo.

The women also appreciate donations of: fabric, threat and yarn to make items they can sell.

Please place your donations in white plastic bags with “CASA” written on them.

Sorry, we cannot accept any used clothing, used shoes, any type of electrical item, or any building materials.

We accept in-kind donations of stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, and other securities. Please email us if you are interested in making an in-kind donation from your investment account.

Drop-off locations

Our Lady of Refuge Church, 4226 Jewell Street, San Diego, CA 92109 (Pacific Beach)

Donation Times: Sundays 8:00AM – 2:00PM and Mondays 8:30AM – 3:00PM.

Enter the parking lot on Oliver Avenue. In the building on the right, enter the farthest left door (should say "Casa"). You can leave your donations here. If the door isn't open, please visit the parish office (blue door) across the alley.
