A legacy of faith, charity and hope since 1957
The Casa de los Pobres USA helps support the Casa in Tijuana, Mexico, where the Franciscan Sisters feed, heal, and restore dignity to the poor.
The poor and destitute people that come to the Casa's doors are sick, hungry, frightened, and cold. The food and care the Casa delivers gives these people hope.

For almost 70 years, the Casa has served the most vulnerable families in Tijuana. By providing food, medicine, and medical services, the Sisters help turn fear and hunger into hope and dignity.
Join our mission of mercy — give hope now through Casa de Los Pobres USA
Your gift provides consistent food and medical care for the most vulnerable. Whether it is a one-time gift or a recurring monthly donation, your support ensures that no one is turned away.
Education is the key to escaping poverty. From just $45 a month, you can give a student the school supplies and transportation needed to succeed — and help that child dream of a brighter tomorrow.
We gratefully accept donations by check made payable to Casa de los Pobres USA. Your contributions go directly to the mission’s daily operations in the Colonia Altamira neighborhood of Tijuana.
Avoid credit card service charges by using your bank’s Bill Pay service. Setting up a recurring payment is an efficient way to provide reliable support and ensure every cent reaches those in need.
Help us stock our bodega with canned food, blankets, shoes, and school supplies. These tangible gifts provide immediate relief to families facing the cold and rain in Tijuana’s poorest colonias.
Please participate and financially support our special events, from special dinners to packing meals. Our vibrant donor and volunteer community bridges the gap between San Diego and the Casa.
Stories of hope from the heart
The 2026 Million Meal Event was a historic success! Our positive, helpful community united to meet our two million meal goal. Half the meals will stay locally with Catholic Charities to feed families facing food insecurity.
